Fans, artists and industry all together for one big multi-venue festival in Manchester

Year’s End Festival, presented by Manchester record label and promoters Scruff of the Neck, returns on Saturday 7 December 2024 – a day-night festival taking over Oxford Road Corridor for one day only, with over 75 artists performing all hand-picked by Scruff of the Neck and an extended team of co-curators including Beavertown, This Feeling, Upgrade, Savage PNP and a uniquely programmed all European stage in collaboration with international partners.

The festival will take place across Manchester music institutions, pubs and clubs – Gorilla, Deaf Institute, Fac251, Mother Mary’s, Thirsty Scholar, Retro and Brickhouse Social. The event is supported by a wider 2024 partnership between Scruff of the Neck and Beavertown focused on creating a meaningful platform for new and emerging artists.

Scruff of the Neck is a highly regarded tastemaker in the UK indie music scene, representing some of the finest established and up-and-coming artists across their record label, management company and live promotion businesses. Year’s End Festival returns as they bring artists, industry and fans to Manchester for one final party before the year is out.

The genre-spanning lineup includes indie favourites such as Spector, Bilk and King No-One, as well as the best in new talent such as Mondernlove., ARXX and The Mercians. Manchester artists feature heavily across the bill, with over 50% of the artists hailing from the immediate local area, with the likes of Prose, The Cavs, The Small Fortunes and many more representing the festival’s commitment to providing a platform for Manchester artists.

The lineup also features stages dedicated to other genres and communities, with Nels Hylton (BBC Radio 1) bringing the best in new alternative rock in a collaboration with his UPGRADE Sounds brand, while Year’s End Festival will also host its first ever rap stage in partnership with Manchester promotions company Savage PnP. An all-international stage is another festival first for 2024, with talent from Ireland, Spain, Netherlands, Hungary, Latvia, Estonia and Sweden coming together to showcase the best in new European talent.

Scruff of the Neck Founder Mark Lippmann explains the unique music industry community concept:

Year’s End Festival will see up to 2,000 of us across 10 stages with one aim: to end the year with one big party and chance to spend quality time together whilst enjoying our artists before the music industry Christmas break. We are also introducing an international stage for 2024, extending the invite far and wide to our friends across the continent to join us and allow us to show just what Manchester has to offer.
